Building and analyzing neural circuit Diagram for the Brain
February 20th 2011 08:03
Prof. Jennifer Raymond at Standford University of Oxford is building a "wiring diagram" for the brain. The group is working on establishing the connections between changes in brain function occurring at different levels of organization—genes and molecules, neurons and synapses, neural circuits, and behavior, and how the computational properties of neural circuits affect us to perceive the world.
The human brain is the most complex object in the known universe, with 100 billion neurons, each with up to 10,000 connections. What is the algorithms that our brain circuits utilize for learning and memory? How molecular-genetic events influence computation in the brain?
In this video, you will learn recent progress in building brain circuit diagram.
