Is our world reality or an illusion?
April 29th 2011 04:57
Reality is the state of things as they actually exist, rather than as they may appear or may be thought to be. An illusion is a distortion of the senses, revealing how the brain normally organizes and interprets sensory stimulation. Reality and illusion are so close. Both of them have to be processed by human brains.
If there are no human beings, the existence of sun and moon are meaningless. The concept of sun and moon are developed by human sense. If there are dark matter beings, parallel universe beings and neutrino beings,
they may not sense the sun and moon. Event the time and spaces are developed by human brains.
Classical physics suggests that we can reveal the reality of universe. But quantum physics and Einstein relativity tell us that the physics law strongly depends on human measurement. Heisenberg uncertainty principle shows whenever we do a measurement, we disturb the physics system and we can not make the measurement accurately. The reality of the electron is just a wave with possibility appearing anywhere. Einstein special relativity shows time dilation, length contraction, energy and mass transmutable, and relativity of simultaneity. Adding recent Internet technology, we find that the illusion is getting closer to the reality.
If our human beings extinct, there will be no sun and no moon. There will be forever darkness. Think about a world can not be measured and can not be reached. There will be not reality. You may argue that if I die, you can still see the moon. Yes, you are right. Whenever a system can be measured by an intelligent being, it can be a reality.

There is a strange and mysterious world that surrounds us, a world largely hidden from our senses. The quest to explain the true nature of reality is one of the great scientific detective stories.
